We Aim to Go Public
Karmasis CEO Murat Eraydın says that they have been developing cybersecurity solutions and auditing products with entirely domestic capital since 2003. He shares that Karmasis aims to go public in the future.
The pandemic made digital transformation mandatory for almost every sector. As a producer of information and data technologies, how do you interpret the developments in this field globally and in Turkey?
The need for rapid transformation and digitalization required by the process also paved the way for possible cyber threats for unprepared institutions. The 40% increase in data breaches in our country during the pandemic period is a clear indicator of this. If we are talking about a safe digital transformation for all parties, cybersecurity needs to come first. Investments made by institutions in this field are rapidly increasing not only in our country but also worldwide.
As you mentioned, data security has gained more importance than ever with the advancements in the technology sector. Considering the increasing data breaches during the pandemic, what should institutions do to predict such events before they occur?
The control of the human factor is vital to ensuring information security and preventing possible risks. Especially in the current period where we have switched to working from home, we emphasize the need for recording the transactions of individuals who remotely access the servers of companies. Taking advantage of tools that can predict threats is also among the measures to be taken against data breaches. Dataskope (Database Activity Monitoring), which we developed based on demand from our customers, responds to this need. It records activities performed by admins on your database systems and allows you to verify that the access and changes made are planned and desired.
If we touch upon the information and security technologies that mostly own your R&D investments, what kind of work does Karmasis plan to do in this area for the future?
We have been developing cybersecurity solutions and auditing products with entirely domestic capital since 2003. I can say that we achieve stable growth every year. Our R&D investments play a significant role in this. With our R&D team, we are accelerating software exports abroad, especially with our new products and services designed in the field of cybersecurity. We recently became one of the subsidiaries of Kafein Teknoloji, a prominent player in the industry. This investment will be followed by our planned public offering for next year.
